Gorsuch: If Trump Asked Me To Overturn Roe v. Wade, I Would Have Walked Out The Door

|

Supreme Court Justice nominee Neil Gorsuch is asked to weigh in on Roe v. Wade at his Senate confirmation hearing. Sen. Lindsey Graham asked Gorsuch if any demands were made of him when he met with President Trump and how he would react if he was asked to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Gorsuch said he would have walked out of the room.

From Tuesday's hearing:

SENATOR LINDSEY GRAHAM (R-SC): Had you ever met President Trump personally?

JUDGE NEIL GORSUCH, NOMINEE FOR SUPREME COURT JUSTICE: Not until my interview.

SEN. GRAHAM: In that interview did he ever ask you to overrule Roe v. Wade?

GORSUCH: No, Senator.

SEN. GRAHAM: What would you have done if he had asked?

GORSUCH: Senator, I would have walked out the door. It's not what judges do. They don't do it at that end of Pennsylvania Ave. and they shouldn't do it at this end either, respectfully.
