Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Texas) said under the proposed Republican health care bill "nobody is going to lose their coverage."
"You'll be able to keep your same doctor, you'll keep your same plan," the Congressman promised on CNN's New Day with host Chris Cuomo.
Sessions also dinged President Trump.
"At the very top there's a lack of understanding of how to sell this bill," he said Wednesday
CHRIS CUOMO, CNN: You have certain people saying this isn't going far enough, I wanted repeal and replace. And you have other people saying, hey, I'm going to lose my coverage under this. You better not take my coverage away otherwise I am coming for you. Those are two big strong pieces of medicine.
REP. PETE SESSIONS (R-TX): Well, they are except only one is true and that is nobody is going to lose their coverage. You'll be able to keep your same doctor, you'll keep your same plan. The addition to this, Chris, is the uncertainty with the Medicaid portion. And because of that uncertainty we have not carefully explained the difference between a tax credit. Which it should be enough to cover a person to have a regular health care plan as opposed to a Medicaid plan where many times you can't find a doctor. So it's really a matter of giving confidence of the American people. And I will confess. Perhaps at the very top there's a lack of understanding of how to sell this bill.
