340B Drug Discount Program: Drug Abuse or Good Medicine?

Without insurance, health care can be unaffordable for many, and those without insurance often rely on hospitals and clinics that provide care to low-income and indigent people. The 340B program was created to help provide these facilities with access to discounted medicines as they provide care to many of America’s most vulnerable. However, the 340B program has expanded significantly. The money that hospitals make from the drug discounts isn’t directed toward patient care, and the program could also contribute to high drug prices.
