The House-Passed Health Care Bill

Last week, the House passed a medium-sized health care bill, the Lower Cost, More Transparency Act (H.R. 5378), with substantial bipartisan support (the vote was 320 to 71). The measure is a grab bag of provisions under discussion in recent months (and sometimes years). Given the level of support the bill received in the House, and also the lack of visible opposition in the Senate, it would not be surprising if something like H.R. 5378 gets signed into law in 2024.
