A series of new reports found that 10 percent of all clinicians – including nurses, nurse practitioners, doctors and physician assistants – have experienced some form of sexual harassment within the past three years.
The first report in the series, 2018 Medscape Report: Sexual Harassment of Physicians, was published Wednesday and found that 7 percent of physicians and 9 percent of medical residents experienced sexual harassment in the last three years. The report said 12 percent of female physicians experienced harassment along with 4 percent of male physicians. Of residents who were harassed, about three times more women than men experienced it.
