Feds Reject Ohio GOP's Medicaid Overhaul

The Obama administration on Friday rejected a request by Ohio to make conservative changes to the state's Medicaid program, warning that the moves would harm healthcare access for low-income people.

Ohio's plan, submitted by the administration of Gov. John Kasich (R) after the state legislature passed a law requiring it, would have mandated that all Medicaid beneficiaries pay premiums and excluded people from coverage if they did not stay up to date on their payments.
