Clinton Vows to "Take Up" Biden’s Cancer Effort

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is making her first big commitment to cancer research just ahead of a campaign appearance with the White House's toughest fighter on the issue: Joe Biden.

In the latest addition to her healthcare platform, Clinton is calling for “robust” government funding and stronger ties to the private sector to help drive more medical discoveries.

“I could not be prouder to stand with Vice President Biden in this fight, and as president, I will take up the charge,” Clinton said in a statement released just before her appearance with Biden in his hometown of Scranton, Pa.
