ObamaCare’s employer mandate has largely struck out when it comes to getting employers in low-wage industries to provide health coverage to their workers, new Labor Department data confirm.
Private service-occupation employers paid even less for employee health benefits in the first quarter of 2016 — just 89 cents per hour of work — than they paid before ObamaCare became law in 2010. That compares to health benefits of $2.71 per hour for workers in production occupations and $3.81 per hour of work for managers and professionals.
