CBO Announces New Health Advisers

The Congressional Budget Office announced its 21 new health advisers Tuesday.

The group meets regularly to discuss analytical issues and advises the CBO on that analysis, Keith Hall, the CBO director, wrote in a blog post. “In addition, from time to time during the year, the CBO calls on members of those panels for advice in how to address analytical questions that arise in the preparation of studies and cost estimates,” Hall explained.

The CBO alone is responsible for the accuracy of its work, he said. The panel members generally serve three-year terms and are sometimes reappointed to those posts.
