High Time for a Higher Smoking Age?

In most states and municipalities, young people can buy tobacco products at age 18. New Jersey is among four states where the minimum age is 19.

But that is changing. As of March, at least 125 localities and the state of Hawaii -- home to 16 million Americans -- had adopted Tobacco 21 laws, according to the journal perspective piece. Many other states, including Pennsylvania, have introduced legislation.
