UnitedHealth Group is slowly beginning to shed light on how many markets it will leave where it sells subsidized private coverage on public exchanges under the Affordable Care Act and may have more to say during its first quarter earnings call this week.
But even if both UnitedHealth Group and Humana – another insurer that has said a public exchanges departure is possible – leave public exchanges for 2017, don’t expect consumers to lose that many choices because it’s unlikely other insurers will follow.
