Diabetes Accounts for 6% of Health Spending

Spending on diabetes makes up 6 percent of total health expenditures in the United States, according to a report from the National Council of State Legislatures.

The report published on Monday estimates $176 billion is spent annually on treatment for diabetes, which affects 9.3 percent of the U.S. population.
