Don Flattery is no stranger to Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va).
The two have worked together to tackle prescription drug and heroin abuse after Flattery lost his son Kevin in 2014.
Don Flattery hopes President Obama will address the issue, a public health crisis as Flattery describes it, during his State of the Union address Tuesday. If he does, Don Flattery will be able to see it in person as Senator Kaine's guest.
