Information Blocking Must Be Stopped

Since the enactment of the Heath Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act back in 2009, the federal government has invested over $28 billion to accelerate the development and adoption of electronic health information (EHI) technology throughout the U.S. healthcare system.

As any healthcare provider can attest, the road to connectivity has been subject to major construction delays and temporary detours that disrupted our usual processes and tested our tolerance for frustration; nevertheless, many industry stakeholders remain committed to achieving the goal of universal, interoperable EHI.
