Ohio's Proposal to Defund Planned Parenthood

Any day now, Ohio could become the latest state to jump on the "defund Planned Parenthood" bandwagon. Both chambers of the Republican-dominated state legislature have passed their own versions of a new bill, which targets $1.3 million in state and federal grants to Planned Parenthood.

Both versions were passed before the Planned Parenthood shooting in Colorado Springs on Friday, and it's not clear yet whether that event will influence the proposal's chances. As it stands, it's only a matter of time before the Ohio House and Senate agree on a version of the bill to send to Gov. John Kasich's desk, and Kasich is expected to sign it.
