MedPAC Begins Work on New Payment Policies

A nonpartisan panel of experts that advises Congress on Medicare issues battled to make sense of the reimbursement policy that will replace the hugely unpopular Sustainable Growth Rate Formula on Thursday. After a lengthy discussion outlining the core framework of the new reimbursement pathways, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MEDPAC) focused its efforts instead on what the policies goals should be.
