Caitlin Huey-Burns: Congressional Republicans Short On Time To Fix Obamacare

|

RCP reporter Caitlin Huey-Burns weighs in on the ticking clock for Congressional Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare:

CAITLIN HUEY-BURNS, RCP: At the same time you have conservatives on the Hill saying, 'We\ve campaigned on this for six years, if we don't do it now that will have political consequences beyond what we're seeing now. And then you have these conservative groups starting to get involved and putting on this pressure.

I was on the Hill today, and a lot of Republican lawmakers were commenting about the president's address as something that kind of gave them a little momentum at a time that -- this process has really been stalled out. And they've been on recess, and they are getting all these attacks from constituents who are asking what they are going to do about Obamacare.

They just have a few weeks until the next recess and only five months until August. They do not have a lot of time to get things done, and they have to go back to their constituents with something.
