Robert Berman is on a mission to put cancer at the center of the 2016 presidential election. He believes that with more awareness lives could be saved. He speaks with Dr. Manny Alvarez.
DR. MANNY ALVAREZ: If I were to rank, for instance, the economy, terrorism, all of the things that voters are concerned with, you think that cancer rates as one of their main topics?
ROBERT BERMAN: Absolutely. In 2015, the American Association for Cancer Research did a study, and that study showed that voters are 50 per cent more likely to vote for a candidate that is in favor of cancer research and that has a strong cancer policy. That was across Republicans and Democrats. So the data is already out there.
