A unique nonprofit is working to help the disabled and veterans injured in battle by training monkeys to assist them in their day-to-day activities.

Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled was established in 1979 with a mission of helping adults with spinal cord injuries and other forms of impairment across the United States. It is the only nonprofit in the country that provides services to those with physical impairments using monkeys as service animals.
